Cyclones pounce on the Wildcats in three sets

Iowa State came, saw and conquered after sweeping Kansas State 25-22, 25-20 and 25-20 at Hilton Coliseum on Oct. 7.

Iowa State has now made it eight straight home match wins against Kansas State. The Cyclones balanced team provided kills and digs from multiple players throughout the match.

There were five players that had five or more kills during the match: Morgan Kuhrt (9), Alexis Conaway (7), Samara West (8), Ciara Capezio (5) and Jess Schaben (9).

This balance continued on the defensive side with many players having a share of digs: Caitlin Nolan (28), Monique Harris (11), Capezio (10), Kuhrt (5) and Schaben (5).

After this win against Kansas State, Iowa State will be 10-5 overall and 3-1 in the Big 12. This record will keep Iowa State in third place in the Big 12 standings behind No. 3 Texas and No. 10 Kansas.

Iowa State will take on undefeated No. 10 Kansas on Oct. 10 in Lawrence, Kan. The match will be the only road match before coming back home next weekend. The Iowa State vs. Kansas match will start at 4 p.m.
