Jess Schaben wins Big 12 Rookie of the Week

Freshman Jess Schaben won her fourth Big 12 Rookie-of-the-Week award this season on Monday.

This is the 13th time Iowa State has won the Big 12 Rookie of the Weak, tying Oklahoma for the second most wins in the conference. 

Schaben earned the award after her performances against West Virginia last Wednesday and Baylor on Sunday. 

Schaben had 12 kills and no attack errors against West Virginia, a rare statistic to earn. She also produced a .632 hitting percentage, a career best in the match. 

Schaben finished with nine kills and a .273 hitting percentage in the victory against Baylor. She also had two block assists.

Iowa State will play Kansas at 6 p.m. Wednesday at Hilton Coliseum. Kansas is 7-1 in the Big 12 and 19-1 in the regular season.
