The Cyclones wanted to rebound against Baylor after dropping the first two Big 12 games of the season by a combined score of 8-0.

Iowa State was on it’s home turf for the first time in conference play this season, but Baylor effectively played the spoiler role, taking a way a 1-0 victory against the Cyclones.

Baylor found the back of the net in the 27th minute and never looked back. The game remained close throughout with both teams being unable to cash in on scoring chances.

Baylor survived a few scares in the final 20 minutes on attempted equalizers and the Cyclones successfully fought off would-be insurance goals from Baylor.

The game ended in a 1-0 final score in favor of Baylor, dropping the Cyclones to 5-7 overall and 0-3 in conference play.

The Cyclones will be at home again later this weekend still looking for their first conference win of the season. Iowa State will take on Kansas at 1 p.m. on Sunday at the Cyclone Sports Complex.
