- August 1, 1966– 16 killed at University of Texas by former marine Charles Joseph Whitman.
- March 21, 2005- 9 killed at Red Lake High School in Missouri by 16-year year old Jeff Weise. Weise’s grandfather was among the victims.
- October 1, 2015- 9 killed and 9 injured by gunman Christopher Sean Harper-Mercer at Umpqua Community College in Oregon.
- April 20, 1999- 13 people killed at Columbine High School in Colorado by Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold.
- December 14, 2012- 26 people, mostly children, killed at Sandy Hook elementary school by Adam Lanza. Police later find the body of Lanza’s mother in her home, bringing his victims up to 27.
- April 16, 2007- 32 people killed by Seung-Hui Cho, a student, at Virginia Tech.
- December 30, 1974– 3 killed by honor student Anthony Barbaro in Olean, New York at Olean High School.
- January 17, 1989– 5 children killed by Patrick Edward Purdy at Cleveland Elementary School.
- April 2, 2012– 7 killed at Oikos College, a small Christian college in Oakland, California.
- July 12, 1976-Custodian Edward James Allaway shoots seven people in California State University Library.
