The ISU soccer team couldn’t get their first Big 12 win of the season Friday night. The team lost 1-0 to Oklahoma State, who was also previously winless in Big 12 play.

The Cyclones are still searching for their first Big 12 win of the season after dropping a 1-0 game against Oklahoma State Friday night.

The first half was a defensive battle that saw both teams remain scoreless. Oklahoma State was the clear aggressor throughout the first half, firing 12 shots, five of which were on goal. By comparison, the Cyclones had just six shots, zero of which were on goal.

The Cowgirls broke the scoring drought midway through the second-half. The Cowgirls got on the board in the 68th minute and never looked back. The Cyclones put pressure on the Cowgirls in the closing minutes but were unable to score an equalizer.

The Cyclones are now likely on the outside looking in as far as the Big 12 tournament picture goes. Oklahoma State came into the game also winless in the Big 12. The Cyclones will now likely need to win both of their final two games to have a shot at getting into the tournament.

That won’t be easy, as the Cyclones next game is on the road at No. 3 West Virginia on Sunday. The Cyclones will then close out their season on October 30 against Texas Tech.
