Your way home may require a detour for a day or two because of some upcoming construction projects.

According to a press release from the City of Ames, 24th street from Hayes Avenue east to Northwestern Avenue will be closed Thursday starting at 7 a.m. The street will reopen by 6 p.m. the same day.

Construction crews will be paving the south side of the road, and no vehicles will be allowed to drive through.

If inclement weather or any incident occurs that would prevent the paving, road construction will start the next day.

24th street will closed again at 7 a.m. Tuesday and will be permanently reopened at 8 p.m.
