ISU Theatre lineup for 2015-16

Iowa State’s Theatre Department has five productions planned for the 2015-2016 academic year: Treasure Island, Love and Information, Les Liaisons Dangereuses, The Secret Garden and The Birds.

Treasure Island

Synopsis: A young boy is swept away on an adventure to a tropical island, where a map tells of a vast cache of gold. 

You might like this if you like: Adventure, pirates and suspense.

Dates: Oct. 2, 3, 9 and 10 at 7:30 p.m.; Oct. 4 and 11 at 2 p.m.

Love and Information 

Synopsis: An experimental play by Caryl Churchill featuring over 100 characters, 57 scenes and an examination of human nature in the age of digital interaction.

Dates: Dec. 4, 5, 11 and 12 at 7:30 p.m.; Dec. 6 at 1 p.m.; Dec. 13 at 2 p.m.

Les Liaisons Dangereuses

Synopsis: A story about romance, scandal and revenge, in which two French noblemen set out to seduce two noblewomen.

You might like this if you like: Drama, period pieces and romance.

Dates: Feb. 26, 27, March 4 and 5 at 7:30 p.m.; Feb. 28 and March 6 at 2 p.m.

The Secret Garden

Synopsis: After the death of her negligent parents, a lonely young girl learns to love after finding a hidden garden in her uncle’s home.

You might like this if you like: Classic children’s books.

Dates: April 8, 9, 15 and 16 at 7:30 p.m.; April 10 and 17 at 2

The Birds

Synopsis: In this comedy, two dissatisfied men find the mythical land of the birds and clash with the gods.

You might like this if you like: Mythology, fantasy and satire.

Dates: April 28, 29 and 30 at 7:30 p.m., May 1 at 2 p.m.
