For a pair of ISU women’s track athletes — one current and one future — there is no such thing as an offseason.

Evelyne Guay, who will enter her second year as a Cyclone next month, and Erinn Stenman-Fahey, who will be a freshman, competed at the Canadian Track and Field Championships on Saturday and Sunday.

The two Canadians went head to head in the junior 800-meter preliminaries in Edmonton, Canada, on Saturday. Stenman-Fahey won round one, finishing with the top time of 2:12.13.

But it was Guay who took the title in the finals of the event on Sunday, with her future teammate finishing runner-up. Guay clocked a 2:10.15 time, while Stenman-Fahey finished in 2:10.46.

Guay and Stenman-Fahey will provide key pieces to the fast-growing ISU program.
