Iowa State has announced the addition of Heather Bowe, a transfer from Vanderbilt.

Bowe, a 6-foot senior forward, will be eligible for the 2016-17 season after sitting out the upcoming season.

“We are so excited to add Heather to the Iowa State family,” ISU coach Bill Fennelly said in a press release. “She is a talented and versatile player who will also bring the experience of playing in the SEC.”

Bowe started 21 of the 23 games she played in last season, averaging 7 points and 3.6 rebounds per game on 52.2 percent shooting from the field.

“I am thankful for the opportunity to play at Iowa State and pursue my master’s degree,” Bowe said in a statement. “I am honored to get the chance to play for head coach Bill Fennelly and his great support staff of Jodi, Billy and Latoja. I am looking forward to playing in front of the wonderful fans in Hilton Coliseum and the rich tradition of Iowa State women’s basketball.”
