Perry to attend Family Leadership Summit in Ames

In a press release Tuesday, former Texas Gov. Rick Perry announced he will be attending the Fourth Annual Family Leadership Summit at Stephens Auditorium on the ISU campus Saturday, July 18.

The 2014 Family Leadership Summit, also held in Ames, attracted more than 1,200 attendees.

According to the press release, the purpose of The Family Leadership Summit is to inspire, motivate and educate conservatives regarding worldview application and the most pressing issues facing America’s families. The event aims to provide Iowans the opportunity to engage with national conservative leaders and hear their leadership vision on the issues that matter most to the future of America.

Perry adds his names to a long list of who’s-who Republican presidential hopefuls planning to attend, including: Dr. Ben Carson; Sen. Ted Cruz; former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee; Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal; Sen. Marco Rubio; former Sen. Rick Santorum; and Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker.
