Update: One armed robbery suspect identified

Arrest warrants have been issued for Jeremy Devon McCorley, 25, of Ames.

UPDATE: 

The Ames Police Department has identified the second suspect described below as Jeremy Devon McCorley, 25, of Ames. Arrest warrants have been issued for first-degree robbery, a class “B” felony and assault while participating in a felony, a class “D” felony.

McCorley is considered to be armed and dangerous. Police encourage anyone who sees McCorley to call 911 or local police [515-239-5133].

One person was injured after being assaulted during the commission of an armed robbery at 3817 Marigold Dr. on Monday morning around 11:30 a.m., according to an Ames Police press release.

Witnesses said, two black males demanded money and other property after entering the duplex. One of the suspects discharged a handgun into a television set. The suspects stole several items from the residents before fleeing north on foot toward Tripp Street.

Ames Police Cmdr. Jason Tuttle said the suspects are still at-large and the investigation is still underway.

“We believe at least one of the people inside of the apartment knew of one of the guys that was there today,” Tuttle said. “So we think it was targeted.”

Tuttle said the men left with at least a backpack and a purse.

Police say the victim suffered minor injuries and was treated at Mary Greeley Medical Center. 

Witnesses described the suspect as a black male with facial hair in his early 20s. He is between 6 feet and 6 feet 2 inches tall, and weighs about 250 pounds. He was last seen wearing a yellow shirt and jeans. Police said he was armed with a handgun.

The second suspect is described as a black male with facial hair in his early 20s. He is about 6 feet tall and weights approximately 180 pounds. He was last seen wearing a white T-shirt and jeans.

Police said the investigation into this robbery is ongoing.
