Fred Hoiberg and ISU assistant coach T.J. Otzelberger talk on the sideline during the second half of Iowa State’s 65-61 win against Kansas State on Saturday, Feb. 25, 2012. Otzelberger will be the highest paid assistant coach on Steve Prohm’s staff for the 2015-16 season.

Steve Prohm’s coaching staff is now set with Jon Rothstein of CBSSports.com reporting that Iowa State will retain ISU assistant T.J. Otzelberger and hire Loyola’s Daniyal Robinson as an assistant coach.

CBSSports also reported that Micah Byars will remain on staff as director of basketball operations. Byars was previously on former ISU coach Fred Hoiberg’s staff.

Last week, Prohm reportedly made his first move as the ISU coach by hiring William Small as an assistant coach. Small was an assistant under Prohm at Murray State.

Iowa State has not confirmed any of the coaching staff reports.

Otzelberger was an assistant coach at Iowa State from 2006-2013, before spending two years as an assistant at Washington. Hoiberg brought Otzelberger back on staff before he was hired as the Chicago Bulls’ head coach.

Otzelberger interviewed for Iowa State’s head coaching vacancy that was ultimately filled by Prohm.

Robinson also has connections to Iowa State, as he served a two-year stint as an ISU assistant from 2008-2010.

The Ames Tribune reported that Steve Prohm has informed ISU assistant Cornell Mann that he will not be retained on staff.
