Pac-Man is going under the knife. Having dealt with a shoulder enjury during this last Saturday night’s big-deal fight against Floyd Mayweather Jr., Manny Pacquiao will now have to undergo surgery to fix a tear in his right rotator cuff.

“It’s part of the game,” said Pacquiao, according to the ESPN.com news services. “I don’t want to make alibis or complain or anything…[but] it’s hard to fight one-handed.

ESPN.com also reports that Pacquiao hurt himself sometimes after mid-March, according to promoter Bob Arum.

According to BleacherReport.com, Pacquiao was denied the request to use anti-inflammatory medication before the big fight between him and Mayweather. This, coupled with the pain Pacquiao had to of experienced throughout the bout, leaves Mayweather’s prominence a bit less than before.

One can’t help but wonder if Pacquiao would have been the winner had he been able to fight at full form.

Dan Rafael of ESPN.com reports that Pacquiao will be out for 9-12 months for recovery.
