Who Else has Won the Highest AMS Award?

Iowa State’s Mathematics Department recently received the highest award the American Mathematical Society bestows in a given year: the Award for an Exemplary Program or Achievement in a Mathematics Department.

The award was established in 2004 and the first award given in 2006. Since then, the following schools have earned this recognition:

2006: Harvey Mudd College

2007: the University of California, Los Angeles

2008: the University of Iowa

2009: the University of Nebraska Lincoln

2010: North Carolina State University

2011: the University of Arizona

2012: Bryn Mawr College

2013: the University of Texas at Arlington

2014: Williams College

2015: Iowa State University

This is a one-time-only honor, and previous winners are no longer eligible to apply for this particular award, although the AMS offers others.
