Iowa State’s Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA) will host a National Organ Donor Awareness Event on central campus today from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

ISU students, faculty and staff are invited to come meet with representatives from the Iowa Donor Network and play lawn games. Attendees can purchase Super Dog and free Hy-Vee cookies will be available.

Items from AI Fitness, The Iowa State Bookstore and Caribou Coffee will also be raffled off at the event.

“Our goal is to increase students’ knowledge about organ donation. There are so many things students don’t know about it,” said Sammi Berrafato, co-director of the National Organ Donor Awareness Campaign Team. “We are extending this invitation to students and staff to come out and have lunch with us and learn something new about organ donation.”

The event will take place under a tent on central campus. The theme for the event is based on The Wizard of Oz, so organizers have set up a yellow brick road to direct students to the event.
