Board of Regents to hold April meeting at Iowa School for the Deaf

The Iowa Board of Regents will hold its April meeting at the Iowa School for the Deaf in Council Bluffs, Iowa on Thursday. The meeting begins at 8 a.m. with committee reports beginning at 9 a.m. The open session, where many items on the agenda will be addressed, is to be held in majority between 1 p.m. and 4 p.m.

Items on the April agenda that directly affect Iowa State include a decision on the sale of $30 million in dormitory revenue bonds that will be used to help finance the construction of the new dormitory next to Buchanan, and a decision on renaming the Jack Trice Stadium End Zone Club the Sukup End Zone Club in order to honor the Sukup family from Sheffield, Iowa. A review of the 2014 fiscal year reports for the university is also on the agenda as well as a report of recommendations to Iowa State regarding a financial aid system review conducted from April 22 to May 17, 2013.

Other big ticket items on the agenda include a recommendation on the University of Iowa’s request for new bachelor of arts and bachelor of science programs in public health as well as an update on the search for the next University of Iowa President who will fill Sally Mason’s shoes. An update on TIER, the Board of Regents’ efficiency and transparency study of the regent universities’ IT sectors, is on the agenda as well.
