ISU gymnastics develops team bond

The gymnastics team is one that works well together, both in competition and out. The team’s relationship isn’t just about being a team, it’s about being a family that looks out for one another.

“We’re really close without having to try to be close and force anything,” said senior Caitlin Brown. “Everyone loves each other, we did an assignment [in practice] where whatever you did affected your partner — nobody wanted to mess up. Everyone wanted to [do well] for their partner. We’re a really close team and we really do love each other.”

This love shows in their performances. With each routine, the girls run down and give the gymnast who just finished all their support and congratulations. Not only do they support each other after a routine, but they support each other during; cheering at every completed flip and landing. Their energy is one that can’t be matched, and when they compete at Hilton, they really bring the magic.
