Women’s track, field completes second day at Drake Relays

Christina Hillman kicked off day two of competition for the ISU women’s track and field team at the Drake Relays on Friday with a fourth-place performance in the shot put. 

Competing in back-to-back events, the senior thrower finished 25th in the discus event.

Sophomore Marine Vallet and redshirt senior Hannah Willms finished fifth and 12th, respectively, in the high jump. 

The 4×400-meter relay team of senior Kendra White, junior Alyssa Gonzalez, junior Kaci Storm and redshirt senior Hannah Willms finished third in its heat and 16th overall in preliminaries. This marked the first time this season the four have competed together in a relay.

In the long jump, freshman Jhoanmy Luque recorded a mark of 19-9, finishing fourth in the event. 

Redshirt seniors Anna Holtermann and Kayla Sanborn will begin the final day of the Drake Relays for Iowa State in the hammer throw at 9 a.m.
