Early Bird EDM: Week 3, top 3

Sam Vander Forest

As I’ve said before, the wealth of music that I am given at any time by my friends’ vast libraries is quite immense. So to keep up, I decided to do a special post this week, with the top three tracks I’ve been given this week. This week we’ve got two fairly new and unknown remixes, and one brand new original mix that can change anyone’s day. Here are the top three tracks for this week. As I’ve said before, head on over to McKinnon82’s SoundCloud page for the newest songs on the web.

BØRNS – 10,000 Emerald Pools (Antra & Crunchy Water Remix)- The original DJ on this track bases himself out of Los Angeles, and so does the group that has remixed it, but the sound in this remix transcends the west coast. The track has a lighter, more house-like feel to it and its lyrics are intriguing and easy to learn.

Oliver Heldens- Gecko (Elephante Remix)- Elephante brings you a deeper sounding track, and one incredible club song in this remix. The drop that follows the deep “OKAY” after the build can get anyone’s blood going. The track feels like it could be featured in a “Fast and Furious” car chase or a fight scene in “John Wick.” Take a listen and I’m almost positive that afterward you’ll want to do something irresponsible and wreckless.

Askery & Lash ft. Laurell- Float Alone (Original Mix)- Askery is a Switzerland-based DJ and is the definition of an up-and-coming protégé. Lash is a duo from the Dominican Republic who are only 19 and are on a mission to make it big. With support from names like Hardwell, David Guetta and Sebastian Ingrosso, they’re sure to blow up soon- especially with a track like this. The house track has incredible vocals from Laurell, who hopefully we’ll hear more of soon.
