Cyclone gymnasts claim second victory in a row

The Cyclone gymnasts traveled to Chicago this past weekend, taking on the Yale Bulldogs and Northern Illinois Huskies. Iowa State claimed victory with a score of 194.95.

It was a rough start for the Cyclones on the uneven bars, with Sammie Pearsall and Briana Ledesma suffering with small falls. ISU had to move on stronger in order to bounce back from this slight stumble.

The Cyclones did just that on the beam, and with a better performance in their second event, they moved onto the floor.

Hilary Green recorded her personal best of the floor with a 9.825, along with Kelsey Paz scoring her personal best of 9.800. Floor carried the team to a strong finish on vault, thus allowing the team to overcome the scores of their competitors and take home the win.

You can catch the gymnasts of Iowa State back in action at Hilton Coliseum on February 20 at 6:30 pm.
