Your beginning-of-the-semester game plan
January 13, 2015
Registered classes
Students can add and drop classes themselves on AccessPlus without any penalties during the first week of classes. To do so, students will still need to use the RAN number they used to register for classes. Classes that are closed on AccessPlus may be at capacity, but students can always use the Schedule of Classes to find and contact the instructor to ask if they could add the class.
Add/drop classes
After the first week of classes, students will need an add/drop slip to make changes to their schedule. An academic adviser and instructor for the class you wish to add or drop will need to sign the slip. You then take the slip to 10 Enrollment Services Center for processing. Check on AccessPlus on your schedule to see the exact date you need to drop a class by in order to avoid extenuating circumstances.
Parking
The Parking Division will be doing lot counts the first week of classes. Lots 29, 119, 59A, 62 and 63 are currently sold out, according to the Parking Division website. Any available lot permits will be sold over the counter at the Parking Division starting on Jan. 21, 2015 at 7:30 a.m.
Textbooks
If your bargain bin textbook company has not shipped your textbook yet, the Book Store is still selling all required textbooks for all classes. If you bought your book new from the Book Store and are not sure if you are going to keep it, don’t take it out of the plastic wrapping. You can always check out some textbooks from Parks Library, as well.
UBill
Students have until Jan. 20 to pay your UBill before additional charges are issued.
Electronic payments may be made via AccessPlus and a designated amount may be withdrawn from a checking/savings account. Payments by check may be sent to the treasurer’s office, 1220 Beardshear Hall, Ames, Iowa 50011 and made payable to Iowa State University.
Meal plans
The last day to cancel or change your spring meal plan is Saturday, Jan. 16.
After this date, no reductions may be made to meal plans, blocks or dining dollars for the rest of the semester.
Students may still add CyCash at any time throughout the semester via their UBill or personal banking account.
