The ISU women’s track and field team diversified its success among a number of different events in its first home meet of the season.

In the mile, ISU runners clogged the top-10 standings, finishing with six of the seven best times in the event. All six of the runners finished with times under five minutes, led by sophomore Perez Rotich, who finished runner-up with a time of 4:50.38.

Top performances didn’t end at the mile for the team. The Cyclones swept the high jump competitions, with sophomore Marine Vallet taking first, redshirt senior Hannah Willms taking second and redshirt freshman Katie Reeves rounding it out at third. Freshman Jhoanmy Luque took first place for Iowa State in the long jump, ranking No. 6 in program history with a mark of 59’5.5″.

Senior Kendra White posted a season-best 54.31 time in the 400-meter dash, also placing first. Redshirt junior Colleen Riley took the title in the 3,000-meter run.

Iowa State will look to continue its success at the Razorback Team Invitational on Jan. 30 in Fayetteville, Ark.
