Iowa State missing its marks

The Cyclones’ defensive struggles may have done the team in against the formerly winless Red Raiders, but two specific offensive woes must share a portion of the blame.

Iowa State was a frigid 6-for-31 from behind the arc Jan. 24, missing more 3-pointers against Texas Tech than most teams even take in any given game.

Furthermore, as has been symptomatic of this ISU team when it finds itself down early, the ball stopped moving. Because of that, overall efficiency lacked.

Iowa State assisted on only 10 of its 27 field goals, a rate of 3.7 assists per 10 made baskets. That is well below the team’s season average of more than 6.3 assists per every 10 made field goals.
