The ISU swimming & diving team swam tough in Iowa City, but were unable to come out with the win.

Senior Amanda Paulson continued her success against the Hawkeyes with a first-place finish in the 50 yard freestyle. Savanna Townsend finished behind her in second place in that event.

Freshman Kasey Roberts set a new season-best for the 200-yard breaststroke. Her time of 2:15.91 is good for fifth all-time in school history.  Roberts was also impressive in the 200 IM, moving into fourth in the school record books with a time of 2:02.56.

Elyse Brouillette finished second in one-meter diving and fourth in three-meter diving.

Up next, the Cyclones are headed down to Tennessee, Fla. for training on Jan. 1 and return to competition on Jan. 16 when they travel to face Illinois.

With the win, Iowa now trails Iowa State 11-6 in the Iowa Corn Cy-Hawk Series.
