ISU women’s cross country team loses two of top-four runners next season

Redshirt senior Katy Moen and graduate student Margaret Connelly helped guide the ISU women’s cross country team to one of its best seasons in school history.

Moen spent her fifth season with the team this fall, and has been a member of each of the four consecutive Big 12 Championships the Cyclones have won. This season, Moen placed inside the top-10 in each meet she competed.

Connelly, on the other hand, spent her first season with Iowa State after graduating from Brown University last year.

Connelly finished inside the top-40 at the Roy Griak Invitational and inside the top-30 at the Wisconsin Adidas Invitational. She also added a fourth-place performance at the Big 12 Championships and a 66th place finish at the NCAA Championships.

Iowa State will return its top scorer, junior Crystal Nelson next year and sophomore Bethanie Brown, who was a 2013 All-American.
