The Ames Police Department has decided to not pursue any more drug charges against senior Bryce Dejean-Jones, according to investigations commander, Geoff Huff.

Dejean-Jones was arrested early Thursday morning on three separate charges. He was arrested after a neighbor called police because of loud noises and marijuana was found on a dresser in his apartment.

A judge dropped one charge of “hosting a drug house” or “gathering where marijuana is present” because there was a lack of probable cause. The court date for the charges, a noise ordinance and a nuisance party violation is yet to be set.

Ames Police Department Investigations Commander Geoff Huff said yesterday that while the hosting a drug house charge was dropped, new drug charges could be filed if they gathered enough evidence.

ISU coach Fred Hoiberg suspended Dejean-Jones for one game. The suspension will be served during the game against in-state rival Iowa in Iowa City tonight. Tip off for that game is 7:06 p.m.
