“Christopher the Conquered” fans have a lot to look forward to in the coming year.

The Maximum Ames Records artist, whose real name is Chris Ford, has plans to release a wealth of new material in 2015, including a studio album, live album, multiple extra tracks and several music videos.

“There’s gonna be a lot of stuff from me that you can listen to if you want to,” Ford said. “We’ll just try to put some cool vibes out into the world.”

In March of this year, Ford recorded his new studio album, “I’m Giving Up on Rock and Roll,” at Ardent Studios in Memphis, Tennessee. Produced by Patrick Tape Fleming of “Gloom Balloon” and “The Poison Control Center,” the album features gospel-influenced theatrical rock ‘n’ roll. Ford worked with a number of talented Memphis musicians to create an album that may be his most impressive yet.

“The new studio album is the most ambitious project I’ve ever done for ‘Christopher the Conquered’ or anything in my entire life,” Ford said.

For the live album “A Passing Melody,” Ford recorded a stripped-down live set at the Salisbury House in Des Moines earlier this year. Not content to release a traditional concert recording, he decided to take a more experimental approach and mixed interviews with his family and friends with the Salisbury recordings.

The final product is more of an experimental audio journey than a by-the-book live record.

“It’s not just like listening to a recording of a live concert,” Ford said. “It’s like storytelling through the recordings of the songs and the other recordings I’ve done. Hopefully it will be cool. I think it’s cool.”

Both albums will be released during 2015, but fans can check out a live version of “What’s the Name of the Town” from “A Passing Melody” by heading over to Maximum Ames Records.
