A referee tries to break up the fight between senior forward J.P. Kascsak and a Michigan-Dearborn player. The Wolverine exited the game after the fight was broken up, and Kascask had a two-penalty sit out in the penalty box. The Cyclones won the Oct. 24 game 4-2.

Cyclone Hockey dropped the second and final game of its series against the Ohio Bobcats 4-2 on Nov. 1 at the Ames/ISU Ice Arena.

During the first period, it seemed like both teams had some unfinished business from the No. 10 (9-4-2) Cyclone’s Oct. 31 overtime win. At one point, there were three players apiece in each penalty box creating a 3-on-3 opportunity for both teams. There were four unsportsmanlike conduct penalties in the period.

Cyclone Hockey took advantage of one of its power plays, as the team found the back of the net just after a power play expired when Alec Wilhelmi deflected Antti Helanto’s slap shot to go up 1-0.

The No. 8 Bobcats (10-2-2) answered right back with a goal halfway through the second period. They capitalized on the momentum by upping their lead by one after chipping in a puck in front of the net a minute later.

Ohio extended its lead to two after a slap shot from the blue line beat goaltender Matt Cooper.

Cyclone Hockey returns to the ice when it takes on Minot University at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 7 in Minot, N.D.
