ISU women’s cross country wins fourth consecutive Big 12 Championship

Crystal Nelson leads the NCAA Midwest Regionals women’s race on Friday, Nov. 15. Nelson took first in the regional race and will advance to the NCAA Championships. The women’s team as a whole took first at the race.

The ISU women’s cross country team recorded four top-10 finishes en route to their fourth straight Big 12 title.

Junior Crystal Nelson led the charge for the Cyclones with her second consecutive first place performance. Redshirt senior Katy Moen finished second with 19:58.5 time. 

Big 12 Newcomer of the Year Margaret Connelly added a third top-5 finish for Iowa State, crossing the finish line fourth overall. 

Redshirt freshman Erin Hooker and sophomore Perez Rotich recorded their best performances of the season placing ninth and 13th, respectively. 

Next on the schedule for the Cyclones is the NCAA Midwest Regional on Nov. 14 in Peoria, Ill.
