Anticipation for The Hobbit builds

As Thanksgiving approaches it reminds J.R.R. Tolkien fans of the epic cinematic experience that is quickly approaching; “The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies.”

With a December 17 release date, it’s still a month away, but with break in the near future and newer trailers being released almost weekly, fans can’t help but gear up for battle. Director Peter Jackson has been directing Middle-earth films for a long time now and has been milking it for all it’s got, so by now he’s an expert. Now that this is the final Tolkien film that Jackson can direct, it seems like he is planning to go out with a bang. With all of the characters and plots already introduced, the movie will be one of the most fast-paced movies he’s directed yet, despite describing it as more of a “political thriller set in Middle-earth.” Don’t take that description the wrong way because he has also gone on the record saying that this movie “is his favorite so far.”

For those who haven’t read the Tolkien books or seen the other “Lord of the Rings” movies, it will be excited to see which characters make it out of this prequel alive. While there are familiar faces from past films, not all have been seen in the other storyline and so it will be an interesting ride for all fans regardless. The clashing of dwarves, men, elves, Orcs and dragons will make for a visually stunning experience, and we’ll be able to experience it in 2D, 3D, and IMAX 3D on December 17. There is also a link below with 11 new high-resolution screenshots from the movie for you to peruse.
