After a slow start, the ISU women’s basketball team finally found their touch. Iowa State hosted instate rival Drake on Nov. 19, defeating the Bulldogs 84-67

Both the Cyclones and the Bulldogs were held scoreless in the first two minutes of play. The Cyclones were finally able to get things together soon after, going on an 11-0 run. They finished the half with a 24-point lead.

The Bulldogs were able to string together a run in the second half, holding the Cyclones scoreless for nearly 5:30. In the end, however, the Cyclones were able to earn the win.

Iowa State shot 46.7 percent from the field and finished 14-39 from the three-point line. Senior guard Nikki Moody was just two rebounds shy on a triple double on the night as well. She finished with 18 points and 12 assists.

Both Brynn Williamson and Emily Durr finished with 14 points on the night. Williamson also made four three-pointers in the first half, giving the Cyclones their initial lead against the Bulldogs.

Iowa State (2-0, 0-0 Big 12) will take the court again on Nov. 23 when they play Cincinnati at Hilton Coliseum.
