The ISU volleyball team is a young team, comprised only of two seniors, one of which is a starter. Nonetheless, setter/defensive specialist Taylor Goetz and outside hitter Victoria Hurtt were sent out in grand fashion with a 3-0 victory against Baylor on Nov. 29 (26-24, 25-17, 25-15).

The RPI No. 12 Cyclones (18-9, 10-6 Big 12) defeated the Bears (14-17, 4-12 Big 12) in what was a back-and-forth first set in which Baylor led for more than half of the set. The Bears were ahead 22-19 towards the end of the set, only to concede an ISU rally to come back to win the set.

After an emotional win, Iowa State held Baylor under 20 points in the next two sets and cruised to its second consecutive sweep.

In her final regular season game at Hilton Coliseum (Ames is slated to host the third and fourth rounds of the NCAA Tournament and could also host the first and second rounds if chosen by the NCAA Selection Committee), Victoria Hurtt posted seven kills and a .333 hitting percentage.

After receiving little playing time in Big 12 play, Taylor Goetz saw action in the final two sets and recorded two digs.

Junior Caitlin Nolan led the way with 19 digs, sophomore Suzanne Horner led with 22 assists and sophomore Ciara Capezio had a team-high 11 kills.

Iowa State, a lock for the NCAA Tournament, will learn its first round matchup, as well as if it will host the first two rounds of the NCAA Tournament during the NCAA Tournament Selection Show on Nov. 30 at 7:30 p.m., which will be aired on ESPNU.
