5 foods that are taking advantage of the pumpkin spice craze

Although fall strikes at the same time each year, everything pumpkin spice creeps up earlier and earlier. Let us take a look at five items that are surprisingly hopping on the Pumpkin Spice Train.

1. Gatorade

Nothing could possibly be a better thirst quencher after a hard work out than downing 32 fluid ounces of pumpkin spice electrolytes. Keep your eyes out for some of these in the vending machines at State and Lied Gym.

2. Mayo

I could not believe my eyes when I was concluding my order at Subway this weekend and saw that this was an option. Try throwing it on an Italian BMT or Chicken Teriyaki for a refreshing take on a classic sub.

3. Booze

Now, this weekend when you are killing massive amounts of brain cells and making terrible decisions, your cheap alcohol option will be a little sweeter. Make a delicious fall martini with Pumpkin Spice Hawkeye and pumpkin pureé.

4. Pizza

This is an overall great move for all of mankind. Jeff’s Pizza can do no wrong, we all know that, and adding this white girl favorite is sure to make a lot of kids happy.

5. All baked goods

Alright, this one is actually serious. Now is the time of year where everything from muffins and cakes to loaves of bread are adding this fall flavor. The annual arrival of this flavor is almost as nostalgic as the leaves changing color.

Now that you have found out that Starbucks is not the only retailer partaking in this flavor theme, slide on your Ugg Boots (or Hunters), and get out there to get your fix.
