Batman origin television series making quite the noise

Christian Dahl

With six episodes now in the books for Gotham, the series is picking up more now than ever. Airing Monday nights on Fox, Gotham has taken a different approach than what we have seen in recent memories with Christopher Nolan’s film series. This approach focuses more on Detective James Gordon, his relationship with the now orphaned Bruce Wayne, and the Villains that are attempting to take over the his city. With seemingly a new villain every week, the novice fan will recognize names like The Penguin and Edward Nigma.

While the everyday fan has those two names and more, Batman purists will recognize names like Fish Mooney, the Falcone and Maroni Families and a young Selina Kyle, with hopefully more to come. In a pre-Batman era, the pace of the series will take some getting used to for those accustomed to the movies, but the adjusting is certainly worth it. With a week by week progression, the writers and directors get more time to set up story lines and dive into characters pasts and their strange minds than ever before. With six episodes down and the season slated for 21, do not panic if your favorite character has yet to surface, there is still time for an appearance.
