Disability Awareness Week at Iowa State is designed for people to gain understanding about the diversity of the student population on campus.

This week will feature events, activities and speakers that will allow students, faculty and staff to experience what life is like for someone who is disabled.

Disability Awareness Week Events

  • Oct. 13

    • Open house at the Student Disabilities Resources Office with students, faculty and staff.

    • Drinks and cake provided
  • Oct. 14
    • Step Into My World — 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Meet at the Student Disabilities Resources Office

    • Student Panel at 3:15 p.m. in the Heritage Room at the Union Drive Community Center room 292
  • Oct. 15
    • Organizational Meeting — Alliance For Disability Awareness” Student Group at 6 p.m. in the Student Services Building. Pizza will be provided.
  • Oct. 16
    • None
  • Oct. 17 
    • Regent’s Summit from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. at the Memorial Union. Lunch will be provided, and registration is required.

Students can visit the Student Services building at any time throughout the year if they think they may have a disability and want to talk to a professional.
