Freshman Nattapan “New” Siritrai finished in third place individually at the Windy City Collegiate on Oct. 7 in Wilmette, Illinois. Here is a deeper look at her accomplishment that also helped the ISU women’s golf team to a third-place finish:

– By finishing third, her result is the best by an ISU freshman since Prima Thammaraks took second place at the Mountain View Collegiate in March 2011.

– Through two tournaments, Siritrai’s third-place finish is a team best.

– After tying for 73rd place at the Dick McGuire/Branch Law Firm Invitational on Sept. 16 and failing to break par in all three rounds, Siritrai posted rounds of 72, 72 and 71 to finish at one-under-par for the tournament and four shots away from sharing medalist honors.

– Siritrai’s all-around game was a key to her success — she placed in the top 10 in par-3, par-4 and par-5 scoring.
