Last week Warner Bros. decided to step up and go toe-to-toe with Marvel by announcing nine new DC superhero movies to be released over the next six years on top of “Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice.” Marvel did somewhat of the same thing a couple weeks ago, but only gave release dates, not names. Fans around the world went crazy when Kevin Tsujihara, CEO of Warner Bros., not only moved the release date of “Batman vs. Superman” up to March, but announced the ridiculous lineup to hit the big screen through 2020. Here are the films that DC plans to roll out in the coming years:

• Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice (2016)

• Suicide Squad (2016)

• Wonder Woman (2017)

• Justice League Part One (2017)

• The Flash (2018)

• Aquaman (2018)

• Shazam (2019)

• Justice League Part Two (2019)

• Cyborg (2020)

• Green Lantern (2020)

On top of the super-news just with the movie titles, the rumors of the superstars that will be starring in them is just as big. Gal Gadot (Fast and Furious) is already known to play Wonder Woman and it’s nice that she’ll be getting her own film. Ezra Miller (Perks of Being a Wallflower) will be taking over as Flash, despite Grant Gustin portraying him on the small screen. Some of the bigger news is that Jason Momoa (Game of Thrones, Conan the Barbarian) will be playing Aquaman (thank God, we get a cool Aquaman, not a fruity one). On top of that, Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson will be the first person to bring the superhero Shazam to the big screen, and Ray Fisher, who is extremely unknown, will be playing Cyborg who may even appear early on in “Batman vs. Superman.”

The biggest casting rumor with this extensive list deals with the “Suicide Squad” film. A gang of misfit villains, much like Marvel’s Sinister 6, the Suicide Squad is a unique story. The names floating around this team consist of the likes of Will Smith, Tom Hardy and Ryan Gosling. That’s huge and will play a big part in DC catching up to Marvel. Here’s a calendar put together by Comics Alliance to help you organize all of the super-news.

The studio also announced three new spin-offs from the “Harry Potter” world, as well as three new Lego movies. The J.K. Rowling films will be released in 2016, 2018 and 2020 respectively. The only titled film so far is “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them,” which takes place before Harry is even alive. As for the Lego movies, they decided to expand the universe after the success of the “Lego Movie.” They’ll be releasing “Ninjago” in 2016, “The Lego Batman Movie” in 2017, and “The Lego Movie 2” in 2018. It’s shaping up to be some massive movie years ahead, and the competition between studios is bigger than ever.
