Education:

Davis believes local school districts should have the opportunity to make decisions that affect them locally. Davis also said Iowans have great opportunities for higher education, but he would support initiatives from the Iowa Board of Regents that funds public higher education. Davis also said there is a need to support “effective educators” in public schools to bring Iowa back to the top of education.

Jobs and the economy:

Davis said Iowa leaders need to continue encouraging small business owners and main street business owners. He would also like to encourage businesses and industries to relocate to Iowa, which would create more jobs for young professionals. While the property tax reform of 2013 will help small businesses, he said taxes on homeowners need to be reduced.
