ISU soccer falls to Texas Tech

Texas Tech was able to score early and often en route to a 6-1 victory against Iowa State on Oct. 26.

Two days after hanging with, but ultimately losing 2-1 against No. 15 Kansas, the Cyclones (6-11-0, 0-7 Big 12) were unable to keep the matchup close with No. 19 Texas Tech (14-3-1, 4-1-1 Big 12).

Texas Tech got on the board 16 minutes into the game, then added goals in the 23rd and 25th minutes before Iowa State was able to get on the board.

Koree Willer scored her 10th goal of the season and put the Cyclones on the board. Willer’s goal would be all the offense the Cyclones could muster up on the day.

The Red Raider’s offense kept clicking as they scored a fourth goal two minutes before the end of the first half to head into the locker rooms with a 4-1 halftime lead.

The Red Raiders tacked on two more goals in the second half to take the 6-1 victory.

The Cyclones will finish off the season against Texas Christian on Oct. 31 at the Cyclone Sports Complex in Ames.
