T.I. releases new album

Christian Dahl

The release of “Paperwork” marks what is now his ninth studio album. With his first release since his collaboration with Robin Thicke and Pharrell Williams over a year and half ago on “Blurred Lines”, the King of the South is back.

There is a similar aura associated with this project, a sound reminiscent of the 2008 hit album “Paper Trail.” Executively produced by Pharrell Williams, the attention to detail from song to song will not go unnoticed by fans and novice listeners alike. Besides T.I. bringing his usual swagger from one song to the next throughout his latest project, it seems that anyone who is anyone in the hip-hop industry makes an appearance.

Chris Brown, Jeezy, Usher and Iggy Azalea all make appearances, leading the star-studded ensemble. Opposed to some work in the music industry, this is an album that truly feels like a finished product. With T.I. again fortifying his position as a seasoned veteran in the hip-hop industry, we can proudly say that ISU booking him for last year’s preemptively-ended VEISHEA was great prediction of what was to come.
