Cyclone Hockey loses in overtime

Coming off a tough loss Oct. 17, Cyclone Hockey suffered an overtime loss at the hands of Lindenwood University Oct. 18 at the Ames/ISU Ice Arena.

Iowa State and Lindenwood were both held scoreless in the first period, the Cyclones failed to capitalize on two power plays but still outshot the Lions ten to seven. 

Iowa State controlled the puck most of the second period and it paid off with a goal by Jake Uglem with only 17.5 seconds left.

The Cyclones lead the Lions 1-0 heading into the third period and at that point had outshot Lindenwood 21-16.

With the third period underway, the Cyclones gave up a power-play goal to Jake Fairchild, which tied the game 1-1 and eventually sent the game into overtime.

In overtime, Lindenwood scored a goal from Tobias Nasgarde to complete the series sweep of the Cyclones.
