Most Anticipated Movies of 2015: Part I

Sam Vander Forest

6. Fast & Furious 7 (April 3rd)- After filming was delayed by the untimely death of co-star Paul Walker, the seventh installment in the growing fast-paced series will be finished with the help of Walker’s brothers. With new director James Wan joining the team (most known for horror films), as well as Jason Statham, the film keeps the action coming like the films before it. Statham plays the brother of Owen Shaw, who the team killed in Fast 6. We’ll see how the movie holds up without Paul Walker, but we can expect it to be touching and exciting as usual.

7. The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2 (November 20th)- The final installment to the movies based off the best-selling book trilogy. As Part 1 is set to come out this November, not much of the Part 2 screenplay is known yet, unless of course you read the books. With all of the same cast and the same director on board, the movie is expected to continue to deliver every ounce of excitement that the films have thus far.

8. Pitch Perfect 2 (May 15th)- With fan favorites Anna Kendrick, Skylar Astin and Rebel Wilson returning alongside the rest of the hysterical original cast, the sequel will most likely be every bit as funny as the first- hopefully. Almost nothing is known yet about the plot, but sequels do have a tendency to be bad when they’re just drawn up out of nowhere, but we’ll just have to wait and see.

9. Bond 24 (November 6th)- Skyfall, the most recent James Bond film, grossed over $1 billion worldwide in 2013, so of course a new one is set to arrive soon. Daniel Craig is returning for his fourth movie as the suave British agent, with rumors of Ralph Fiennes coming in as M (Hopefully that wasn’t a spoiler for anyone). The plot is unknown, but Skyfall did a great job of modernizing Bond and his gadgets to a whole different level, while still leaving quirky jokes and great homages to the older films; hopefully Bond 24 (named due to it being the 24th movie in the franchise) will continue that.

10. The Fantastic Four (June 19th)- Almost nothing is known about this reboot of the four astronauts who obtain superpowers, other than the cast. Kate Mara (Shooter, House of Cards) will be playing The Invisible Woman, Miles Teller (21 & Over, Footloose) as Mr. Fantastic, Jamie Bell (Jumper, The Eagle) as The Thing, and Michael B. Jordan (Fruitvale Station, That Awkward Moment) will be The Human Torch. These are the stars of this reboot that fans have to look forward to, and I think true fans and general movie lovers are all excited about what is to come with this diverse cast.
