ISU men’s track and field team caps off Bergan Invitational

The ISU Men’s track and field team capped off the three-day Bill Bergan Invitational on Saturday. Host Iowa state competed against Texas, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Kansas State, North Dakota State, Iowa, South Dakota State, South Dakota, and North Dakota.

Taylor Sanderson placed second and set five career bests (60m, 60m hurdles, long  jump, shot put, pole vault) out of the seven combined events in the two-day heptathlon.  His career high score of 5,245 currently ranks 15th in the nation.

The men’s triple-jump was secured by Kevin Poster after a mark of 47’09.25″ which is the best of Poster’s 2014 season so far.

Ryan Sander made his season debut in the 60m hurdles, and was able to finish third after winning the preliminary heat.

In the men’s mile, Brian Llamas took second place after a comeback on the last 600 meters.  Llamas passed all runners but the leader during his comeback on the final two laps of the race.
