The Lowdown

After the ISU women’s basketball team’s first overtime game of the season, a win at Oklahoma, the Cyclones returned to Hilton Coliseum and jumped on Texas Tech en route to a 74-48 win Wednesday night.

No. 11 Iowa State (14-0, 3-0 Big 12) remained perfect on the season behind senior Hallie Christofferson, who led the Cyclones with 22 points. Guard Seanna Johnson also spurred Iowa State along with 10 points and nine rebounds.

Turning Point

With a 19-14 lead with eight minutes to go in the first half, Iowa State went on a 18-2 run to close out the half, allowing Texas Tech’s points in the final seconds of the period. Hallie Christofferson and Nicole “Kidd” Blaskowsky tallied six points a piece with Seanna Johnson adding four points and Brynn Williamson putting through two free throw attempts.

X Factor

Hallie Christofferson — The senior was active on all parts of the offensive end in the ISU win, shooting 7-of-10 from the field including 2-of-4 from 3-point range. She also took advantage of her versatility in the lane, going up against a single defender for most of the night.

Christofferson added five rebounds and was 6-of-6 from the free throw line.
