ISU volleyball drops first conference loss, to Oklahoma 3-2

The No. 25 ISU volleyball team was handed its first conference loss by Oklahoma (20-25, 25-17, 23-25, 25-17, 12-15). The Cyclones (8-5, 2-1 Big 12) lost 3-2 in Norman, Okla. on Saturday and ended its four-match winning streak.

Senior libero Kristen Hahn had a career-high 39 digs on the afternoon and averaged 7.4 digs per set. Before Saturday’s match, Hahn averaged 5.45 and led the Big 12.

Iowa State had three Cyclones with double-doubles during the match, including sophomore right side hitter Mackenzie Bigbee, with 18 kills and 11 digs against the Sooners.

Both Iowa State and Oklahoma had four different players with double digit kills on the afternoon. Outside hitter Keila Rodriguez led Oklahoma’s offense with 19 kills and added 12 digs against the Cyclones.

Before the match, Iowa State led the Big 12 in service aces with 70 this season. The Cyclones added another eight against the Sooners.

Iowa State’s next match will be against Kansas State on Wednesday, Oct. 9, in Ames.
