The ISU soccer team ended their weekend in California with a 3-1 loss to No. 3 Stanford on Sunday. The loss puts the Cyclones’ record at 4-4.

Taylor Uhl put the Cardinals up halfway through the first half after she capitalized on a deflected shot. ISU forward Jennifer Dominguez responded 15 seconds into the second half, putting home a goal off of a Hayley Womack assist.

The rest of the game, however, would go in favor of the Cardinals, as Courtney Verloo scored in the 59th minute to put the score at 2-1. Uhl put the game out of reach in the 82nd minute with her second goal of the game.

Iowa State will return to action Friday in a road test against Northern Iowa.
