ISU volleyball falls to Nebraska in straight sets

The ISU volleyball team was swept by Nebraska (25-13, 25-22, 27-25) on Saturday. The Cyclones were handed their second straight loss at the Ameritas Player’s Challenge in Lincoln, Neb.

After starting the season 4-0, No. 17 Iowa State (5-4) has lost four of its last five matches. Saturday’s loss was the first meeting with No. 12 Nebraska (7-1) since the Cyclones’ win over the then No. 1 ranked Cornhuskers last season.

Sophomore right side hitter Mackenzie Bigbee led Iowa State in kills against Nebraska with 12. She had a .409 hit percentage and two blocks on the night.

Senior libero Kristen Hahn averaged almost six digs per set. She had 17 digs against Nebraska.

The Cornhuskers had three players with double digit kills. Senior Kelsey Robinson and freshman Kadie Rolfzen both had 16 kills during the match.

The Cyclones will have a week off before their next match. Iowa State will take on in-state rival Iowa on Saturday.
