Cyclone wrestlers Kyven Gadson and Michael Moreno both received awards on Tuesday as Amateur Wrestling News announced its winners of the 2012-13 Amateur Wrestling News awards.

Gadson was named Comeback Wrestler of the Year in addition to receiving the Courage Award for all he has been through this season. Gadson finished the season with a 30-4 record, establishing his recovery from a serious shoulder injury last season.

Gadson dealt with tragedy off the mat this season, as his father and former Cyclone All-American, Willie, passed away just a week before the NCAA Championships after a year-long battle with cancer.

Moreno also took home an award on Wednesday, being named Most Improved College Wrestler. After finishing 4-17 last season, Moreno adopted a new winning mentality and went 31-10 this season, placing sixth at 165 pounds at the NCAA Championships.

Kyle Dake of Cornell received three awards on Wednesday, being named Wrestler of the Year, Best Technical Wrestler and Fan Favorite. Dake became the only wrestler in NCAA history to win four national titles in four different weight classes.
