Cyclones fall to BYU

The ISU tennis team lost to Brigham Young with a score of 5-2 on Saturday. The Cyclones are now 1-4 for the season.

The Cyclones had two victories in singles and were swept in doubles matches.

Ksenia Pronina defeated Morgan Anderson in the third set 3-6, 6-4, 6-2 at No. 2 singles. Meghan Cassens also added a win for the Cyclones at No. 4 singles.

At first singles, Simona Cacciuttolo lost 3-6, 2-6. Freshman Ana Gasparovic was defeated 1-6, 2-6 at No. 2 doubles.

Jenna Langhorst and Emma Waites lost at No. 5 and No. 6 singles, each winning 3 games of their matches.

The ISU tennis team was defeated in all three of its doubles matches to Brigham Young, thus contributing no doubles points to its overall score.

On Sunday, Iowa State faces No. 65 UNLV, whom today’s opponent, BYU, lost to 5-2 on Friday. The match will begin at noon.
