Iowa State loses in first four-team meet

The ISU gymnastics team traveled to Minnesota to compete in a four-team meet on Saturday. The Cyclones finished the night with a final score of 193.95.

No. 12 Minnesota came in first with a final score of 196.8, No. 1 Michigan scored 196.775 and No. 20 Central Michigan received a score of 194.65.

Iowa State (2-3, 0-0 Big 12) began its night with floor exercise where it scored a 48.975. The Cyclones continued with the vault and received a score of 48.475.

Senior Elizabeth Stranahan started the meet as an all-around gymnast, but was taken out of the lineup after a fall on the dismount of her uneven bars routine.

The Cyclones finished the uneven bars with a score of 48.075. Iowa State received a score of 48.425 on its final rotation, the balance beam.

Iowa State did not take home any event titles.

Junior Henrietta Green came in last in the all-around race with a final score of 38.325. Freshman Sara Townsend competed in three events as well as an exhibition routine on the balance beam.
